In search of sacrum - new parish centre in Stoki, Łódź

The aim of the thesis was to design a new parish centre which would combine a religious cult space and a social space, responding to the needs of contemporary parishioners. The main idea was to create a place with almost a home and inner character, where the faithful will find space for silence and encounter the God in everyday life, also by building relationships between people. Thus, in addition to the church part with a chapel, the building also includes various meeting rooms for parishioners and a living area for priests. Warm and friendly atmosphere of the place is further emphasized by the use of natural materials, including wood, in interior and on building elevations.
